Stories of Grace (1 Timothy 1:12-17)
Most of the world already knows information about Jesus. For some, the story is new and life-changing. For others, its the same story their non-transformed parents told them. Instead of only telling our friends the story they may already know, what if we shared how that story has transformed our lives? To do this, Jesus’ grace has to actually change our lives and we have to know the specific ways our lives have changed. We would never deny Jesus is important to us. But if you told your friends about how Christ’s grace has specifically changed your life, how would you do it?
In 1 Timothy 1:12-17 Paul testifies of how Jesus completely changed the direction of his life. Paul knew where he had been and where he was going because of Christ’s grace. So we are going to use Paul’s testimony of how grace changed his life so we can learn how grace has worked in our lives. We all have unique redemption stories. Knowing our story will encourage us as we consider a dark past that is being redeemed and give us definite direction for the future. Evangelistically, our story will provide hope to our lost, dissatisfied, and hurting friends.
